We have been appointed to deliver the design and construction of a 7000 sqm new build industrial warehouse as part of ongoing expansion plans at Royal Portbury Dock on behalf of The Bristol Port Company.

We have worked closely with the Client from project inception to develop the design to suit their requirements as part of a detailed pre-construction process.
The building is a non-insulated steel framed unit with roller shutter doors in various locations to accommodate articulated lorries and with sufficient headroom for the operation of a number of overhead gantry cranes.

Through our early involvement in the design process, we were able to propose the introduction of ground beams integrated with the piling solution, achieving significant savings through the utilisation of the existing base.

Our work on site takes place in a live and high security environment, under Port Security Regulations and as such, we have liaised closely with the Client in order to meet all relevant logistical requirements.

“We selected Sweet Construct for this project as their expertise was clear – they fully understood our requirements and were able to react quickly, making full use of their established local supply chain to begin the works immediately, helping us to remain on track with our investment and expansion plans at the port.”
